EU agrees to ban exports of waste plastic to poor countries
The EU has agreed to ban the export of plastic waste to non-OECD countries from mid-2026.
The deal aims to prevent plastic waste from ending up in landfills and waterways.
EU countries can request to import EU plastic waste if they prove they will treat it well. [ more ]
